The Obama girls Malia and Sasha have mostly avoided staying in the limelight despite being daughters of the most powerful parents in the US. Though their moves are always followed by the prying eyes of media, the teenage daughters of President Barack Obama have mostly managed to stay away from becoming news for the wrong reasons.

But it’s applause-worthy that 15-year-old Sasha Obama has given up the comfort of the White House and has taken up a job at a seafood joint in Massachusetts during her summer break.

Her job at the joint called Nancy’s on Martha’s Vineyard reportedly includes waiting the tables, maintaining cash register and helping the restaurant prepare for lunch. Also, in the photographs that have gone viral on social media, Sasha wears the restaurant’s uniform; blue t-shirt and a cap.

According to Boston Herald, she is accompanied by six Secret Service agents who wait outside till she completes her four-hour shift. “She’s been working downstairs at takeout. We were wondering why there were six people helping this girl, but then we found out who it was,” a co-worker told Herald.

Reportedly, the joint is Obamas’ favourite and they don’t forget to stop by during their annual vacation to Martha’s Vineyard. Also, the owner Joe Moujabber is their friend.

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are known to raise their daughters as normally as possible and this proves just that. Their elder daughter Malia Obama also has interned twice in the past at film sets, reports BBC.
