According to a foreign news agency United Airlines flight UA890 departed from Shanghai on 1st January 2017 and landed in San Francisco on 31st December 2016.
The passengers of the flight got the opportunity to celebrate New Year twice due to the phenomenon.
It should be noted the first of January 1 is the one time they can fly back to the previous year, allowing passengers to celebrate the New Year twice within 24 hours.
Shanghai-to-San Francisco is ideal route for time travelers on New Year’s Eve. The 23-hour time difference and nine-hour flight time for flights between New Zealand and Hawaii gives plenty of time to enjoy the celebrations, enjoy fireworks before traveling back to the previous year.
