That’s called being a ‘Wonder Woman’ in real life too! Actor Gal Gadot was pregnant during much of the shooting of Wonder Woman, a film that has been breaking box office globally. The Israeli actor plays a superhero in the film.
Gal was five months pregnant when she had to return to the studio for some reshoots of the film in November last year. It took some CGI magic to hide her baby bump. At London’s Leavesden Studios, the costume designer had to redo her dress, cutting a portion of it and putting a green cloth so that her figure could be altered in postproduction, reports Business Insider.
“On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman. On wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog,” Gal was reported as saying.
The story goes that for one scene director Patty Jenkins wanted something extra after seeing a cut of the film. In the scene, Diana Prince (Gal) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) are seen walking to the frontlines of the WWI, and have a serious conversation about the horrors of war.
"That scene was just a slightly tense scene of them walking. I was like ‘I need her to see some brutality’,” Jenkins told The Hollywood Reporter. “So we added her seeing the horses being whipped. It was actually something that had been in the script originally. "
